A WW2 '8th Army African Theatre' Officer's G.VI Efficiency Medal Group awarded to Lieutenant D.H.W. Leroy, Royal Artillery.
Derek Henry Wilson Leroy was born during 1912 and lived in the Hendon area of North London throughout the 1930’s. He was commissioned from Cadet to 2nd Lieutenant into the Royal Artillery on the 25th January, 1942, serving with them during the North African campaigns of the Second World War.
Lt Leroy was awarded his Efficiency Medal on the 3rd September 1948 (London Gazette No. 39394 refers) and died on the 16th March , 1988, at Pinner, North London.
The medals are mounted for wear, sold with copied research, and are as follows -
