A WW1 Territorial War Medal to 2109 Pte A Hilleard, 1/4th & 2/4th Battalion's the Somerset Light Infantry.
Arthur Ambrose Hilleard was born at Bath, Somerset, on the 1st of October 1899.
He first joined the ranks of the 1/4th Battalion, and during WW1 he served in India from October 1914, and then Mesopotamia from 1916 as part of the 3rd (Lahore) Division, until September 1918. At some point he transfered to the 2/4th Battalion with the service number 241949. Pte Hilleard was discharged on the 24th of April, 1919.
Interestingly, the Theatre War Code on his medal roll is listed as (6b), which is Nauru in Micronesia, north east of Australia, and it also references his rank as a Bugler.
The medal is mounted for diplay, sold with copied research, and is as follows -
