Cyril Smith was born during 1895, and enlisted into the R.A.M.C. on the 13th of February, 1912. He disembarked France on the 16th March, 1915, with the 4th London Field Ambulance (TF), serving alongside the R.A.S.C. His unit would have seen action during The Battle of Aubers Ridge, The Battle of Festubert (15th-25th May), The Battle of Loos, and the subsequent actions of the Hohenzollern Redoubt, then during 1916, andthe German attack at Vimmy Ridge.
He transfered to the R.A.S.C. on the 1st of September, 1916.
Cyril Smith was disembodied on the 22nd of February, 1919, and is entitled to wear the Silver War Badge No.514389, due to sickness.
