Alfred Glover was born during 1891 at Anfield, Liverpool, and during WW1, originally joined the ranks of The Welsh Regiment (63403), serving on the Western Front.
At some point he transfered to the Royal Welsh (Welch) Fusiliers, serving with the 9th Battalion on the Western Front. During the German Spring Offensive of 1918 (21.03.1918 - 18.07.1918), much of the 5th Army, of which the 9th Battalion was a part of, was destroyed, with the 9th Battalion alone suffering over 450 casualties.
Pte Glover was killed in action on the 10th April, 1918, in the fighting during the Battle of Lys at Messines. Alfred Glover has no known grave and is remembered on the Tyne Cot Memorial.
