A WW2 South African 'Italy Campaign' Medal Group awarded to 8068 J.H. Duncan, Prince Alberts Guards, later 22 Field Regiment S.A.A.
J. H. Duncan was born at East London, South Africa on 6 May 1919. Enlisting on 10 October 1940 with Prince Albert’s Guards he later travelled to Egypt with the West Pretoria Regiment on 30 April 1943. Finally transferring to the 22 Field Regiment South Africa Artillery on 13 May 1943 Duncan took part in the Italian Campaign, entering the war in Italy on 14 April 1944. He was hospitalised on 6 May 1944 for unknown reasons and evacuated to South Africa, disembarking in Durban that same year. Finally discharged on 2 January 1947.

Condition, good very fine
