A WW1 Casualty 'Died of Wounds' Medal Pair & Death Plaque awarded to 17813 Pte. A. Scott, 1st Battalion the West Yorkshire Regiment.

Arthur Scott was born the son of Frank and Sarah Scott of 1 Shand Grove, Holbeck, Leeds. Attesting in that city he was posted to the 1st Battalion, West Yorkshire Regiment, entering the war in France on 29 June 1915. This unit was part of the 3rd Division which was in on the action during the Somme Offensive where they took part in the capture of the Quadrilateral before taking the villages of Moreval and Le Transloy. Moving to the Loos sector in March 1917 they were still there the next month when Scott was seriously wounded. Taken to No. 33 casualty clearing station he died of his wounds there and was buried at Bethune Town Cemetery.

The medals are mounted for display, sold with copied research, the original named O.H.M.S. envelope, condolence slip and plaque envelope, and are as follows -
