A WW1 'Died of Wounds in Action' (most likely Battle of Delvile Wood) Casualty Medal Trio to G-5355 Pte G.W. Foster, 22nd Battalion the Royal Fusiliers.

George William Foster was born circa 1879 and originally joined the ranks of the 12th Battalion, the Royal Fusiliers. He disembarked France on the 1st September, 1915, and was to ‘die of wounds in action’ on the 7th August, 1916, most likely received during the Battle of Delvile Wood. George Foster is buried at the Abbeville Cemetery.
